At Coop Trading, we are the Nordic sourcing organization for Coop Sweden, Coop Denmark, Coop Norway, and SOK in Finland. However, our global procurement of Fruit & Vegetables is managed from our office in Valencia, La Eliana, Spain, where our team of 9 talented individuals are based.
Are you the new Buyer we're looking for to join us in Valencia?
As a Nordic Buyer based in Valencia, you will report to our Nordic sourcing group Manager for Fruit & Vegetables and collaborate across the entire organization. Your daily interactions will span four Nordic owner organizations and suppliers worldwide, granting you the independence to manage your own product portfolio effectively.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Work with our partners to develop a harmonized and attractive assortment.
- Develop and implement category strategies within your portfolio.
- Stay continuously updated on developments within your portfolio and the team's.
- Conduct negotiations for your portfolio, seasonal agreements, and weekly pricing.
- Ensure relevant master data is available for internal processing and stakeholder use.
- Participate in customer, and supplier visits such as trade exhibitions.
- Generate analyses focusing on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) within your portfolio.
- Optimize sustainable packaging solutions.
- Ensure delivery adherence and agreed logistic solutions.
- Collaborate with the Nordic Sourcing Group Manager to set and achieve performance goals.
Your Personal and Professional Qualifications:
- Experience in the international Fruit & Vegetables industry, preferably from a retailer or supplier perspective.
- Results and market-oriented with a strong business acumen and analytical insight.
- Proven negotiation skills
- Effective communicator with a knack for supplier consolidation and range management in Nordic countries.
- Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and a team player.
- Not afraid of challenge and take the lead.
- Proficient in office software (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Proficient in both written and spoken English and Spanish or Italian.
