Picture yourself

  • fine-tuning and evaluating large language models to create innovation that supports an efficient and accessible rail service.
  • working with dedicated colleagues to improve DSB's AI services.

One of our key initiatives is a speech-to-text solution, which makes daily tasks easier for train staff. It helps them report technical issues, irregularities, and operational problems quickly, ensuring the train is back in service faster.

Join our GenAI team! We are in an exciting development phase, and now we are looking for two experienced Data Scientists to join our team.

You will join a committed group of experts skilled in data science, software development, machine learning, and UI/UX, with some members based in our Høje Taastrup office and others working remotely.

We are a diverse and enjoyable group, providing an engaging, multicultural environment with colleagues from Brazil, North Macedonia, Azerbaijan, Poland, Norway, and Denmark.

In the GenAI team, we value the freedom to choose methods that encourage creativity and innovation in developing our solutions.

We look forward to creating a sustainable and technologically advanced future for DSB with you!

“The collaboration in the team is so much fun;
we experiment with all sorts of technologies, testing and researching.

Professionally, it's exciting to understand how we use data as a resource at DSB to create AI solutions that make a genuine difference, and it's very rewarding to see that the ideas that were brought to the table and conceptualized four weeks ago have now been developed.”

Says Asger, our Business Analyst who joined us 5 years ago as a Student Worker and has since held positions as a Communication Specialist and Strategic Designer.

A typical day as a Data Scientist in the GenAI Team The day begins with a stand-up meeting where we review the Jira board, check tickets, update each other on yesterday's progress, and outline today's tasks. We also answer a common icebreaker question; yesterday's was: "Which movie have you seen the most times?"

Throughout the day, there is ample time for deep work where you

  • Interpret different data sets, e.g., audio streams for speech recognition, and prepare data for training models.
  • Monitor and refine predictive and speech-to-text models to ensure peak accuracy and efficiency.
  • Work with data visualization tools to generate clear visual representations of data insights and model outcomes.

Formal meetings are rare; instead, we hold ad hoc sessions for exchanging knowledge with software developers, ML Engineers, and other Data Scientists.

We regularly present our development progress to internal teams and stakeholders, engage in feedback sessions, and hold retrospectives to discuss successes and challenges.

Who are you? You are motivated by diving into complex data sets and extracting valuable insights, and you work methodically with it.

You want to apply your technical knowledge to make a difference and are ready to explore new ways to improve your skills.

In the team, we are committed to continuous learning to keep up with the latest industry trends, and so are you.

Your understanding of Danish is crucial, as this is key to working effectively with the datasets we operate with.

Professionally, you have working experience with most of the following

  • Python programming, using libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn for data manipulation and model development.
  • Cloud platforms such as Azure (Databricks), adding scalability in handling large datasets.
  • Data processing and indexing, including Azure AI Search to create and handle RAG pipelines and indexing tools.
  • Training models on data using frameworks, e.g., TensorFlow or PyTorch and performing evaluations in production-level setups.
  • ML model tracking tools like MLflow and other models in text processing, categorization, and advanced prompt engineering.
What can DSB offer you?
  • Free transportation with DSB
  • Flexible working hours and the option to work from home a few days a week
  • Training in DSB's gym and PureGym
  • Pension plan and health insurance
  • Canteen arrangement and the opportunity to buy food to take home
Apply now The application deadline is November 4th, 2024.

We conduct ongoing interviews, so please upload your motivation for applying (which can also be as a video), CV, and exam papers, if applicable, as soon as possible.

As part of the application process, please answer 3 job-related questions in our career portal.
