Coop Trading is looking for a Nordic Product Specialist 

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Nordic Product Specialist to join our nearfood team. Some key words for this position are curiosity, high technical knowledge, and the ability to translate this into everyday language and understanding of the Nordic consumers in your field.

Key responsibilities:

  • Proactively secure an attractive and harmonized product portfolio including developing products and product descriptions which are competitive in the Nordic Private Brand market.
  • Quality assurance of Coop and SOK's portfolio of own brands for the grocery retail sector, ensuring compliance with Coop's own product and quality requirements in the nearfood segments. 
  • Ensuring accordance with applicable legislation and third party label criteria (e.g. Nordic Swan)
  • Close collaboration with suppliers and our own design department on the final product design. 

Nearfood includes a large portfolio of products from freezer bags, toilet paper, cleaning and detergents, candles, cosmetic products to light bulbs, grill charcoal, food supplements, baby- and petfood. 

About you:

  • A relevant education as minimum Bachelor or alternative technical education with several years of work experience from industry. 
  • 2-3 years of experience with quality assurance and product development of nonfood products from retail or branded business.
  • Well-grounded knowledge of plastics and other food contact materials and relevant EU legislation
  • Experience in familiarizing yourself with technical and legislation requirements and standards.
  • Experience in working with third party criteria and labelling e.g., Nordic Ecolabel and Asthma Allergy Nordic is considered as an advantage.
  • Maybe you have experience in other types of nearfood products e.g., LED lamps, batteries, cotton, hygienic products, and packaging materials.
  • Experience with other regulation like REACH, RoHS and CLP regulations is an advantage.

Place of work: Currently, our office is in Taastrup - however we are looking at new locations closer to Copenhagen.
