Are you ready to translate data into intelligent applications that will improve the daily lives of thousands of travellers?
The future of Artificial Intelligence (AI) at DSB holds great promise with its rapid pace of development and innovation.
Recently DSB launched TrAIn, a strategic AI programme which is now accelerating the pace even further.
At DSB, we are on an exciting journey of innovation, trying new technologies.
We are looking for colleagues to collaborate across different business domains. You will learn and experiment with new technology to make a difference for DSB.
"I experience goodwill in terms of trying things out; there is trust that we want what's best for DSB - and room to ask critical questions to our project sponsors in the business."
Says Anne, Data Scientist in the AI, ML and Data Analytics Team. Anne joined us in February 2021.
Join the AI, ML and Advanced Analytics Team You will work alongside colleagues who are dedicated toward machine learning, data science, GenAI, software development, and business analysis.
We believe in the power of teamwork to create the best solutions. As Anne puts it:
"The best thing about our team is the collaborative spirit. You're free to take initiative on any issue, knowing it's a shared responsibility. It's great — there's a positive atmosphere and trust that colleagues will handle their tasks, ensuring we achieve our goals."
We have been developing multiple in-house AÌ/ML applications for several years.
The products include passenger prediction for dynamic ticket pricing, as well as computer vision applications for detecting graffiti on trains and detecting rail trespassers to prevent collisions.
We want to scale and expand these solutions – and dive into new potentials within AI/ML with a focus on Computer Vision.
What will you be doing? You will get the chance to work and scale our existing solutions and explore new potential that can make a viable impact on DSB and our customers.
Our tech stack is based on open-source and Microsoft Azure. We use technologies and platforms like Databricks, Kubernetes and AI/ML Studio.
You will be involved in
- Translating business requirements into technical solutions with a delivery team
- Creating and sustaining advanced ML models, coupled with metrics for monitoring their effectiveness and performance in business settings
- Monitoring, debugging and optimizing ML models and applications for performance, scalability and reliability
- Creating and maintaining robust Python and C# based software applications
- The use of best practices within MLOps to develop DSB’s ML expertise
- Agile work, using SCRUM as a framework for our AI development
At 9 AM, we had a brief daily stand-up where we reviewed the scrum board to assess progress on tasks and discuss any obstacles.
We started up by asking how each team member was feeling that day. Then, we each had to answer a new question to get to know our colleagues better. Today's question was, "Would you rather have a photographic memory or be able to forget anything you want?" I chose photographic memory.
The rest of the morning was spent deploying and testing workflows in Databricks for scaling our graffiti detection solution with data from two new cameras, as well as testing the performance of our new computer vision model for detecting graffiti on S-trains.
In the afternoon, I joined the monthly IT Information meeting and a User Story Kickoff for a new feature in our graffiti solution where all developers are encouraged to contribute ideas for successful completion.
We also had 'fika' (Swedish coffee and cake) together on Monday and Thursday afternoons as usual.
Who are you? We are seeking candidates who are motivated by machine learning and by utilizing data and turning it into intelligent applications.
You are eager to learn and stay up to date on the latest trends and advancements in the AI/ML landscape.
You appreciate working in a team environment and can accelerate our development by creating innovative applications.
We invite you to apply for the position regardless of your seniority. We will offer you a salary package that matches your level and experience.
Your personal skills cover
- Solid problem-solving and the ability to think both critically and creatively
- Effective collaboration with non-technical and technical personnel
- Curiosity and openness to learning and trying out new ideas
- Fluency in English, orally and in writing
- Understanding of the statistical and algorithmic foundations of deep learning
- Experience with applying computer vision techniques and libraries such as OpenCV and PyTorch-based deep learning
- Familiarity with cloud-based development on Microsoft Azure and GitHub
- Experience in deploying ML models for production-grade environments using containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with documenting ML model development using metrics and MLFlow
- Programming skills in Python
What DSB offers You will be part of an exciting journey to scale AI at DSB, where your work will have a visible impact on real-world solutions.
Furthermore, DSB provides the following benefits
- Free transportation with DSB
- The possibility of working from home up to two days a week
- Training at DSB's on-site fitness center and PureGym
- Pension plan and health insurance
- Lunch scheme and the option to purchase food to take home
We conduct interviews on an ongoing basis, so please send us your resume and application no later than April 1, 2024.
For any questions, you are welcome to call or text Martin Riishøj Mathiasen (AI Solutions Lead), at +45 2468 3995 or Thor Larsen (ML Engineer), at +45 2468 0516.
