How would you like to
- work with infrastructure and cloud that directly impact train operations?
- observe and monitor DSB’s software reliability?
- contribute to root cause analysis to permanently fix problems?
and works as a technical analyst in the Response Team.
Join the Application & Infrastructure Response Team! You will work with Kenneth, Allan, and Thomas – each specializing in their primary focus area: infrastructure, sales systems, and train service.
We are responsible for ensuring the stable and efficient operation of our applications and systems, with a primary focus on business-critical applications deployed on cloud infrastructure.
We serve as a bridge between our IT infrastructure, applications, colleagues, departments, and suppliers, facilitating the exchange of knowledge.
We all attend a 24/7 duty roster, and you will be on call every 4 weeks. We are good at
covering for each other during private gatherings on shift.
Luckily, we do not experience frequent breakdowns.
However, in case of any technical problems, our team takes responsibility for solving them in close cooperation with the Situation Management team, as well as experts and system managers related to the incident at hand.
In close cooperation with IT Data Center & Cloud Services IT operations @ DSB consist of around 100 specialists and generalists.
The Response Team is a part of Data Center and Cloud Services with 12 colleagues.
You will collaborate closely with our Cloud Center of Excellence's infrastructure experts, including cloud architects and specialists.
Your main stakeholders and internal customers are those in charge of IT applications on equipment.
A typical day in the Response Team does not exist. However, this is Kenneth’s summary from one particular day.
During the morning standup, we discussed the inaccurate data on the "Rejseplanen"
(Journey Planner) with the service portal. After investigating last night, I shared
knowledge with Henrik, as train operations are his domain.
After calling ticket sales in Aarhus, I met with the system manager and developers to
troubleshoot slow payments in our sales systems.
In the afternoon, I attended a departmental meeting for the Data Center and Cloud
Services team. We discussed job satisfaction, management expectations, and social gathering preferences.
A varied field of work You will develop a comprehensive understanding of our business-critical applications, systems, and IT infrastructure, including the relationships between them.
This will ease your access to technical troubleshooting across the entire IT landscape.
During critical breakdowns: you will use your knowledge of DSB's systems, listen to all parties involved, examine similar experiences, and gather information to enable solving the problem.
After breakdowns: you assist with root cause analysis, share knowledge, and design and implement improvement measures to ensure future stability.
When systems are running, you and other experts will enhance, monitor, and automate operational activities to improve the reliability of cloud applications and the platform.
Technologies You will get access to a wide range of technologies in our IT infrastructure, and a mix
between private and public cloud.
Our goal is to construct all projects utilizing code and automation, in alignment with best practices.
We are working with the following technologies, tools, and scripting languages
- Cloud installations
- Azure & Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Platform / Infrastructure as a Service (PaaS &IaaS)
- PowerShell
- Bicep / Terraform
- Yaml pipelines
- Operating systems, databases, and middleware applications
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
You will be part of an on-call agreement to troubleshoot critical incidents or breakdowns that cannot wait until the next working day.
You will be on call for one full week 24/7 every 4 weeks and compensated in salary accordingly.
The frequency of requests outside working hours varies. On an average week, you will
experience 2-3 calls. When frequency is more intense you will have colleagues to lean on and seek assistance from.
You have the option to work remotely for up to two days and during on-call outside of office hours.
We welcome both experienced professionals and new graduates! You must enjoy troubleshooting technical issues across infrastructure,
applications, and systems. And you are motivated by working with the cloud.
Furthermore, you can recognize yourself in the following statements
- A solid technical background in IT infrastructure, or equivalent theoretical knowledge.
- Able to explain technically complex issues to a non-technical target group
- Familiar with some of the tech stack mentioned above (what you do not know you will learn here)
- Work and residence permit in Denmark
• On-site fitness center and membership to PureGym
• Pension plan and health insurance
• A lunch spread that also offers the choice to grab some dinner for takeout
• Relevant cloud certifications
