Imagine being part of the program ensuring DSB's investment in the Future S-network where multiple projects and tenders should be coordinated and planned.

Envision being either part of the team planning and ensuring a timely rollout of a new fleet or being part of the team monitoring supplier schedules.

The discipline of planning is growing, and our work is in demand for projects and programs, therefore, we are looking for three new planners to join our team.

"As a planner, you will join one of Denmark’s largest infrastructure programs and collaborate with a diverse group of skilled people from around the world," Rasmus Rubinstein, Head of cross-functional PMO, explains.

Denmark is facing extensive investments and changes in the railway, and DSB is playing an important part by enhancing new rolling stock, establishing new maintenance facilities, and converting S-banen into a fully automatic network.

Welcome to our Project Management Office (PMO) We are looking forward to welcoming you in our cross-functional PMO, where you have your functional home. In daily life, you will be working on our major projects and programs.

In the PMO, you will have eight other Planners with whom you can share knowledge and sparring. You will also work closely with many other skilled PMO and project colleagues.

"In the PMO, we are more than 45 highly skilled professionals who are responsible for planning, reporting, risk management, project support, document management, and quality management".

What will you be doing? You will play an important role in coordinating project activities, monitoring progress, and facilitating effective communication among stakeholders.

You will work in close collaboration with our Project Planners and Project Managers and assist the Project Managers in relation to best practice within planning – both theoretically, practically, and technologically.

In projects where we already have a supplier, you will also have the possibility to work closely with them and visit their major assembly lines. With time, you will be a superuser of our planning tool, Primavera – if not already.

Your Tasks Your specific tasks will depend on the actual project/programme, but here are some of the expected tasks

  • Establish consolidated time schedules based on project inputs and cross-discipline planning to ensure realistic and communicable plans.
  • Supervise and guide the use of planning tools such as Primavera, and have a solid knowledge of MS Project.
  • Monitor project progress against baselines and propose mitigations when necessary to ensure credible forecasts.
  • Organize and conduct monthly planning reporting to communicate progress and forecasts.
  • Conduct detailed schedule analyses on engineering plans and prepare scenarios.
  • Acquire a comprehensive overview and knowledge of all projects to address stakeholder inquiries.

You can probably recognize yourself in the following

  • Documented experience in planning complex projects and programs
  • Genuine interest in detailed analyses and a deep understanding of the given tasks.
  • Experience in designing and establishing project and portfolio/program plans.
  • Knowledge of best practice methods and tools, with extensive expertise in MS Project Professional and Primavera.
  • Ability to develop processes for monitoring, controlling, and reporting on progress, accommodating the needs of Program Management.
