Imagine developing your skills and using innovative methods to revolutionize the public transportation in Denmark. This is a unique chance to join one of the largest and most complex projects. We are looking for you to take responsibility for the maintenance of the Future S-trains.

Right now, we are making investments to secure the future of sustainable, public transportation. Among other things, we are investing in the project "Future S-train", which is about automating the S-train - as we know it from the metro in Copenhagen. It's a big responsibility, and we are gathering the best colleagues from all over the world to lead, drive, and carry out this task.

"It's a fairly complex task we're undertaking. The transformation to ensure that the S-trains can run without drivers is quite intense. As a Maintenance Lead, you will really face some exciting challenges that extend across several different professional fields when both legal, planning, and technology disciplines must come together. You work with new methods and the best people in the industry!" says Morten Søndergaard, Project Manager at DSB.

Your future bases – the Maintenance team and the Future S-train You will have two different "bases". One base is the Maintenance team, where you will have colleagues with whom you can discuss technical matters. The other base is in the Future S-train project, where we currently have 15 employees in the project group. We are many different professional groups, including economists, engineers, lawyers, a designer, and a planner.

In addition to your internal colleagues from the Maintenance team and the project group, you will also work with our international consultants.

About the job and your everyday life Once you have settled well into the job, you will:

  • Have an overview of the determination of the Maintenance prerequisites for the purchase.
  • Have an overview of the specification of the Maintenance of the FS Rolling Stock.
  • Have an overview of the infrastructure to be used to maintain the FS Rolling Stock.
  • Ensure internal technical coordination and coordination with technical experts in DSB’s and other stakeholder organizations.
  • Contribute with valuable inputs to the management team, of which you are a part.
  • Effectively handle negotiation processes with manufacturers.

A typical workday starts with you coordinating with some of the employees in the Maintenance team. You discuss the current technical issues and find a good solution together. Then you go to a meeting in the project group, where you discuss tender requirements. You manage to find a compromise that the entire project group is satisfied with.

After the meeting, you have a delicious lunch in our inviting canteen with your colleagues. The rest of the day you will write and review documents at a high technical level, which you handle at your desk with a good cup of coffee.

"You will have a very varied and flexible workday, where you will really develop your skills. There are very few projects in the same league when you look at the complexity and diversity! It's a developing place to be because the work is complex on several dimensions. Everything we do, we do for the first time, based on experiences from our previous procurement projects" says Morten Søndergaard.

Who are you? There are many angles to this position. We imagine that you recognize yourself in the following:

  • Have extensive maintenance and managerial knowledge (+10 years) and familiarity with rolling stock (5-7 years).
  • Have knowledge of how to manage projects (3-5 years).
  • Are good at ensuring that compromises are made between different professional groups.
  • Master Danish in writing and speech. English is our working language.
  • Good at motivating employees.
  • Can communicate clearly to different professions and at different levels (both upwards and downwards in the organization).
What DSB has to offer? Your workplace is DSB’s modern headquarters in Høje Taastrup.

As a new employee at DSB, you can look forward to:

  • Flexible working hours and the possibility of working from home a few days a week.

  • Training in DSB’s own fitness center and membership to Pure Gym.
  • Pension and health insurance.
